A butterfly twist is an interesting effect to try for your old t-shirt. A remodeled shirt like that is perfect for wearing in the summer heat, when heading over beach, for example. To make it you will need wide shirt and 1 yard light and stretchy fabric with drape. The concept is really simple: first cut the shoulder and side seams of one side of the shirt; next place the right sides together, so that they’d be facing each other; then twist the shirt so the right sides meet together; finally, pin the seams together and sew them. That’s pretty much it! See also the video tutorial at trashtocouture.com.
